Happy Birthday to Me!

Well today is my 26th birthday. I suppose there is nothing terribly significant about being 26 that instills the age with great meaning but I am excited none the less. I also find myself largely unperturbed about the fact that I am another year closer to thirty but maybe you should ask me about that again in a few years :) It has been a great year for me and I am excited to see what will happen when I am 26. After all I met Jordan when I was 19, got engaged when I was 20, married at 21, pregnant at 22, baby at 23, pregnant at 24, baby at 25, this year promises to excite. And no I am not pregnant, I am hoping to change it up this year, as in 26 Jordan started seminary or 26, got job at Apple store that sort of thing. Or maybe 26, won the lottery... although then I would have to start playing the lottery... Let me get back to you on that one. Okay enough rambling, I'll give you what you really came here for...
I asked Calvin if he had the fruit bowl on his head and he said, "No, it's a hat." He didn't add "Duh, Mom" but I am pretty sure he was thinking it.
Gigi gave Cordelia her very own popsicle. She loved it, until her hands got too cold to hold it any more. Then she cried because her hand were cold and she cried because I took it away and she cried because her hands were cold and well you get it.
Gigi lets me do whatever I want (Wouldn't have it any other way). No, look again. He is standing on the kitchen counter.
I love this book. Each page tells what the characters chose to wear, eat etc. then the opposite page asks the reader what they would choose to eat, wear etc. from a series. It is so cute to watch Calvin decide. He takes it very seriously.
After Church
The Family!
We gave her some crackers to eat; she was really excited about those crackers.

Yay Poppy!
Me and My babies, she is still really jazzed up about that cracker.
Group shot after church.
I kept calling him Don Johnson.
This picture was taken by a little boy who asked to see my camera, "Hey that's my mom's!"
Also taken by said little boy. Note the belly.
Also by the little boy, I should really have gotten his name. I think he may have a bright career ahead of him.
Still the little boy.
Yet again.
After church we went to La Tonalteca for my birthday dinner. I was going through chips and salsa withdrawal. Oh man was it good. Here are the boys at lunch.
Cordelia started to get antsy at lunch so Gigi bought her a lollipop. It looks like she is waving, she isn't. She is feeling the stickiness. Note the sheen.
I threw in another one just for Aunt Rachel :) Oh the stickiness
On another note Calvin gave me some lady bug earrings that he picked out with Gigi and Daddy and a card. He told Jordan to write "You're the best mommy I've ever seen" in the card. Best present ever.

  2. Cordelia is the only baby in the world who I still love when she's sticky (OK, Coop and Cal too). What a sweetheart! I think Calvin's present rules! He loves his mommy. I miss watching that little brain work. I hope you have a wonderful end to your birthday, and I have to agree with you. Twenty-six is gonna be your best year yet!
