Cordelia's One Year Pictures!

We're a little ahead of the game since her birthday isn't until October 8, but we had the time, the energy, and the inclination; so we figured we would go ahead and get them done. The best part is we got a high resolution cd with rights to print. I will be sending out a few copies but if you have a request, let me know!

This is the one we bought the most copies of, it was a tough decision.

Calvin wanted to get in on the fun too. His 3 year shots will be in a few months.

Rick and Jackie come to Town!

Uncle Rick and Aunt Jackie came to see us tonight. They hung out with us at the apartment for a while and then we went to have pizza, followed by more hanging out. We had a great time with them. On the way home from the pizza place Calvin told us that they were sweet and wonderful. The kids had a blast playing with them and it was great to catch up.
Cordelia loved Uncle Rick's hat.
Calvin was jumping on the couch between them.
Cordelia talking on uncle Rick's phone.
We love the jack in the box and Aunt Jackie.

Watching the Young Avengers with Uncle Rick.
Group Shot!
We had a great time. I hope they come back soon.

One Year Ago Today

I remember being so excited that Calvin was saying two syllable words and feeling so impatient to meet Cordelia. It is amazing how much has changed.

Favorite Things Friday

Alright I am going to copy Rachel again because it sounds fun. In no particular order.

1. Gigi is here! She took us out for dinner so I wouldn't have to cook, gave Calvin a bath and watches the kids so I can have a break. What a blessing!

2. It has been so fun to watch Cordelia learn lately. She can now give high fives, and when you ask her where her nose is she points just below it. Then she points to my nose.

3. Gold Box! We are watching House season 7 right now because we were able to buy a digital copy from Amazon for $6. A shout out to my Dad too for giving us this awesome dvd player.

4. Extreme Couponing. I have learned the art. I spent 45 at the grocery store and saved 65 on monday. That's right, I saved more than I spent and I didn't buy 50 bottles of mustard. Today I got some resolve carpet cleaner for $0.50 and some free hand soap. And I have only just begun.

5. I am so excited for Jordan to be starting his masters. He loves his classes and he is working so hard. I am so proud of him. And he still helps out around the house a ton, what a great man!

6. Calvin has been hitting lately, a lot. No that is not my favorite thing. I am so blessed by how understanding everyone has been about it. And I am truly blessed that I can call my mom anytime for some sound advice and some good old fashioned encouragement.

7. Calvin has been singing all the time lately. I posted a video earlier. It is so sweet to hear his little voice and he is finally getting all the words and the timing down.

8. KENKEN, holy buckets am I obsessed with that game. It is like sudoku but with math. Love it.

9. Rick and Jackie are coming to see us tomorrow and we are so excited. We haven't seen Jackie in about a year and a half and we haven't seen Rick since Christmas. I am so excited for them to see Calvin and Cordelia and to talk to them. They are so great together.

10. I've been reading in Romans lately about God's love leading us to repentance and not apathy. I am so grateful to serve a God that lavishes me with grace, I pray that I will always seek his will and not become complacent. The cross is such a marvelous gift!

Alright I think that rounds it out. That was kinda fun. No promises on keeping up with it but I will do my best. Happy Friday everybody!

The Wheels on the Bus

This video had to be taken covertly because Calvin hates to sing for the camera, note the reaction when he sees the camera at the end. Enjoy.

Big Slide

Check our the big slide at Smith park. It was awesome. We can't wait to go back and to take Cooper!

Smith Memorial Playground

We went to a ridiculously cool playground today called Smith. Check out the "Tot Lot"
This toy spun around. She didn't really smile much but every time she was taken out she tried to climb back in.

Rocker!
This is a merry go round, built like a cage to help them stay in it.
The reson Calvin wasn't on the merry go round was because all he wanted to do was swing. We finally convinced him to go on the big slide, more on that later.
Cordelia likes to swing too.
Once the rain hit we headed in side to play. There is a converted mansion full of toys by the playground.
Calvin loved the little playhouse. I called this his hipster hair. We got really wet running in from the rain.
When I took this picture, I thought they were kissing. Clearly I was wrong. I see this face a lot lately. At least he didn't hit or push this time. I see that a lot lately too.
